Patient Education:
At Bay Denture Clinic, educating
patients about the limitations of dentures as mechanical substitutes for living
tissues is a continuing process from the initial patient contact until
adjustments are completed. Such instructions include, but not limited to the
following key points: Individuality of patients, Appearance, mastication,
speech with new dentures as well as oral hygiene. Because the education of
patients is so critical to the success of new dentures, we help our patients
become aware that denture appliances are not permanent, the mouth changes, and
most important, the care they provide themselves may be a deciding factor in
the success they experience with their new dentures.
